Blues and Rhythm Show 280 on 93.3 CFMU (Hamilton, Ontario)

Swear to Tell the Truth for Tuesday, June 2nd or June 9th, 2020 (10:00 to 12:00 noon) – air date of prerecorded show is uncertain

After being away from the air we followed the instruction from the radio station to begin preparing radio shows from home, if possible. It’s a steep learning curve for the technically unsavvy. We managed to undermike our voice and made a few other mistakes along the way to our first home broadcast file.

Along the way, we played some pretty interesting music, however–R&B, Blues, Hokum Blues, Western Swing, Old Time, Gospel and Soul.

We’re moving around a lot on this weeks program. On the show, Houston R&B; R&B from the Capitol label; Lead Belly, on the date Smithsonian Folkways releases its 5 CD Lead Belly Folkways box set; couple of female gospel groups from gospel’s golden era, more gospel from Memphis’ custom label, Designer Records, soul, including Jackie Shane.

Last week’s Mardi Gras show turned into a technical errorfest. There is no adequate explanation, so we won’t attempt one. We just hope you weren’t paying close attention and that we can make things right this week.
