Blues and Rhythm Show 302 on 93.3 CFMU (Hamilton, Ontario)

Swear to Tell the Truth for Tuesday, January 5, 2021 (10:00 to 12:00 noon)

On our first program of 2021 we draw from a couple of recently released albums, one of which contains live material not known to have been preserved and another that traces the career of a figure neglected by reissue companies up to now. If we compiled best album lists these sets would warrant consideration. Otherwise, we have a program with blues from the 1950s and later, pre- and post-war Western Swing, and Gospel, mostly out of Chicago.

On the Show:

James Wayne – Ernestine Allen – Buddy Guy – Ike Turner & the Kings of Rhythm – Billy Branch – Stephen Barry Band – Alfie Smith – Whitehorse – Bob Skyles & His Skyrockets – Jesse James & All the Gang – Norfleet Brothers – Rev. Robert Ballinger – Patterson Singers – Jesse Anderson – and others.

Listen to the program each week at FM 93.3 in Hamilton or on CFMU online at cfmu.ca. The program will be available to stream or download until for eight weeks until March 2nd as a podcast. Just go the website, scroll through 40 shows to Tuesday 10:00 am bring up the right playlist and stream or download the show.
